East Windsor is a medium sized town and originally very agricultural focused due to its level topography and being next to the Connecticut River. East Granby has worked very hard to maintain a well-planned community by carefully zoning residential and commercial areas. The housing consists of many older homes as well as newer housing. There are a few condominium communities in town and some new developments. However, the bulk of the housing is older and maintains its historical charm.
